True to its name, most of Oceanside's attractions are centered around the ocean and the beach. The Oceanside Pier and the Oceanside Harbor are two such attractions. The Harbor offers dining, shopping and boating, while people at the Pier choose to spend their time fishing and surfing. Downtown Oceanside is experiencing a revitalization, and so now a variety of museums (like the California Surf Museum), art galleries, boutiques and restaurants can be found in this area, which is also home to the brand new Oceanside Civic Center.
